Hello #PichaHeroes!

I cringe every time I need to introduce myself because that’s when I’ll be like ‘who am I? I don’t know me’. And I’ll fall into a deep, reflective thought. But for you, our #PichaHeroes, I’m going against my will. Lol.

First let’s see how a Malaysian potato rolls against a German’s:

HELLO! my name is Atikah! 😀 I’m in the Picha Marketing Team, so I’m in charge of bringing ‘em moneyyyy in. My other role includes brewing fun, trendy and interactive social media updates (mainly FB) which I’m still trying to get familiar with because I’m all about the formalities and boring stuffs! (get a life! I know. :p )

I’ve been eyeing on The Picha Project since my final year in university when it first started. I’ve always followed Suzanne’s updates back then and was very inspired by her team’s works for the underprivileged communities. That was when I told myself that I will work for Picha Project soon after I graduated. Perhaps it’s fair to say that this is one of my dreams come true.

Picha Newbie

I’m not even a month old in Picha, but it already feels like it. You won’t believe how amazing my team and our refugee families are, so adjusting to the new job has not been a hard time for me. The amount of supports and love are just unbelievable!

Being in the Picha Team will make me grow rapidly. At least that’s how I foresee it would be. When I first joined in a few weeks ago, I was told that I have to gear up because I am expected to be able to be very independent while picking up a lot of things in less than one month. And that mean two things. SPEED and EFFICIENCY.

I don’t have any legit marketing background except for some basic social media marketing I did for my part-time job. But I’m ready to rumble! If you see any lame FB postings, yikes, forgive me!

I think that’s all I have to say. If you ask me if I’m happy, I’d say I’m super happy plus grateful. On behalf of the Picha Team, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude for all the love and support all of you have provided us along this journey. It means a lot to us. Let’s empower more lives, shall we?
